For this project we were split up into groups and told to create a skit where we go to a Spanish speaking country and can incorporate our subject, in Spanish, into it. My group’s subject we preposition use. We had many classes to work on this which could include writing the script, practicing it, or getting critiqued by the rest of the class. The whole process was very laid back and lax but it still demanded focus. We ended up presenting this to a live audience, everyone’s parents, at an exhibition. This project was very helpful for our understanding of Spanish and I know that I will never forget my lines.
I really liked this project in general but I also thought that it was more about remembering our lines than learning them. I thought this because there was a lot of stress on having everything perfect for it and being able to know our lines at any point. This got in the way a little bit for me but I still think that this project helped my overall understanding of the language. Also, my group was the least prepared out of all of them so it was very hard to perform in front of strangers without knowing our lines too well but I suppose that was our fault, not the project’s.
