Video Project
For the video reflection in Digital Arts, we had to adapt a lot. We had to because the project changed and some of us had to restart. The project started as a public service announcement about sea world and our take on what they are doing to the orca whales. Then, it just had to be any public service announcement as long as it was appropriate and it included all four distances of film. If I could do this project again, my public service announcement would definitely be about something else that was less controversial. I also would have taken a lot more time on this and just relaxed.
1. This project was called the Teacher Creature project. We had to combine a teacher’s face with an animal or creature’s face using photoshop. I picked Roxy for my teacher and chose an ostrich, kangaroo, and rabbit for my animals.
2. I think that the hardest part of this project was making it look realistic. To solve this problem, I asked for advice from about 5 or 6 people. That helped me choose a different style and decide exactly how I wanted to do it. I ended up making it look a lot more realistic then I had anticipated.
3. My favorite part of this project was how much freedom we had. I really like how I could do whatever I wanted and there were not specific guidelines. I think that these projects are very beneficial. I hope to do more of these projects not only in Digital Arts, but in every class.
4. I learned a lot about myself in this project. The biggest thing was how my impression can change from the beginning to the end of a project. For instance, at first, I thought that I would just do the bare minimum because I was having a lot of problems with my grades and I did not know how to manage my time. By the end of the project, I really wanted to go above and beyond. I ended up adding 3 more pictures then I needed to and did a good job on it. This project really changed me a lot and I hope that most projects can have this influence on me.
